Lots of great takeaways here for sure! Actually 99% of your homework is stuff I should be applying to my green 6yo gelding and just have felt "meh" about it all...! I also switched a bit between that, riding, and side reins so that she didn’t get “stuck” in one position but the Vienna reins in particular helped her since she wanted to get tight and lama around.Piccoloponyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08275679567725425281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8359915651309786241.post-45194407613990538432021-07-27T09:20:00.709-07:002021-07-27T09:20:00.709-07:00You are inspiring to me, figuring out a way to mak...You are inspiring to me, figuring out a way to make lessons with EC work even with a ferry ride involved. Meanwhile I'm over here hemming and hawing about reaching out to a trainer that's an easy hour up a straight shot highway from me. So thank you for that unintended motivation! 😁 TrainwreckInTealhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10557554448624901955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8359915651309786241.post-24282727288950037572021-07-26T13:54:32.145-07:002021-07-26T13:54:32.145-07:00Yes! I'm reluctant to put her into a 'grown up riding horse' program of 5 day a week rides until she's stronger. I did the same thing for Aeres who was not strong enough to canter well with a rider when I first got her, and it worked great. Sometimes they do need the chance to build muscle without a rider in the way, and then it makes having a rider up a more positive experience. As with anything, it's all in how you adjust and use them!Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04292565760924146966noreply@blogger.com
